I can't believe the last time I got on here was 5th January. Sorry everyone just had lots going on recently.
I'm writing today as I believe I have finally turned a corner. A few weeks ago we got some terrible news (luckily it didn't turn out to be as bad as first thought) and I went on a bit of a self destruct mission again. Luckily (and it really was lucky) I only put on 2.5lbs in 2 weeks (I guess my self destruct isn't quite as bad as it used to be). But that led me to where I am now. I had hit that low again, after kind of drifting along for 4 months, and it gave me the kick in the bum I needed.
For the first time in about 4 months I have been 100% focused on my new goal. I have put in to place a plan and I am sticking to it (I even turned down a bacon, sausage and black pudding butty yesterday).
My new goal is now to lose 5 stones by 1st September!
Unfortunately I won't be running the Great North Run this year but I will still find 2 half marathons to complete, as that was another of my goals for this year, and I'm still going to do them in under 2 hours. After the last few weeks my goals have changed slightly but my will to complete them hasn't.
You never know what life is going to throw at you, and occasionally you're going to fail (we're only human after all) but it's about dealing with that failure and moving on. As Rocky says "life isn't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." I know that's a quote from a fictional character but it still rings very true to me.
I'll keep you updated with how I'm getting on.
